Why Ages 5 to 12 Are Perfect for Our Program

Our kids’ program is designed for a wide age range, specifically for ages 5 to 12. As a parent, I was originally worried about such a vast age gap, but the TSU Family programs have proven successful over the last six years based on a unique approach. In short, the class is aimed at the whole family, one of our goals is for adult helpers to feel like they received a free class. Having activities aimed at various age groups has proven incredibly successful at bringing families
together for enriching outdoor experiences. This age range is ideal because it encourages teamwork and collaboration among family members, allowing everyone to participate and learn together. We do offer other age-specific and drop-off programs throughout the year, but the heart of this program is getting the whole family adventuring together more.

The TSU Family program is structured to foster family bonding, with some activities that require both kids and adults to work side by side, even the older kids. Some skills can be mastered independently by even the youngest adventurers, while others will benefit from adult guidance, ensuring that parents can continue to support their child’s learning at home after the class.

By including a mix of activities suitable for all ages, we create an inclusive environment where families can grow together. This approach not only enhances learning but also builds lasting memories, making it a rewarding experience for everyone involved. Join us for a journey that strengthens family connections and equips your children with essential skills for the great outdoors!

If you have any concerns about what class is best for you, or questions about camp in general, our youth coordinator would love to talk to you about them.
